Frequently Asked Questions
What does "bring your own agent" mean?
You connect PRFactory to the AI coding agents you already use and pay for, such as Claude Code or Codex. The agents run on your machine with your own subscription and credentials. PRFactory orchestrates the workflow, the agent team, the checkpoints and the collaboration; it never hosts LLMs and never charges for tokens. A team run spends your subscription, not ours. That is why team size, not agent count, is what you pay for.
Do I need to buy LLM credits or provide an API key?
No. There are no credits, no token metering, and no API keys to hand over. Your agent uses the subscription you already have, so your PRFactory bill is flat and predictable.
What is the difference between the MCP connection and the local worker?
PRFactory has a built-in MCP server, so the agent you are already working with (for example Claude Code in your terminal) can connect directly. It reads tickets, plans, and governance rules, fetches the prompt for the next step, and reports progress back, with you in the driver's seat. The local worker is a small service on your machine that picks up queued work items and runs your CLI agents on them, either one agent per phase or a whole team led by a lead agent, depending on how the phase is configured. Both are included in every plan.
Is my code sent to PRFactory?
Your agents run against a local git worktree on your machine. PRFactory stores the workflow artefacts your team collaborates on (tickets, plans, Q&A, reviews, and the diffs submitted for review), so checkpoints and history are visible to everyone.
Can I change plans later?
Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. A change between paid plans takes effect immediately, and Stripe prorates the difference on the next invoice.
